From Puttur to three factories: how the House was built
An automobile spare parts shop in 1987, packaged water in 2000, and a manufacturing footprint across three states by 2025.
House of Bindu did not begin in food or drink. In 1987, Mr. Sathya Shankar started an automobile spare parts business in Puttur Taluk, Dakshina Kannada. In 1994 the group moved into automobile finance with Praveen Capital, which today runs 13 branches across Karnataka and Kerala.
Manufacturing came in 2000, with Bindu packaged drinking water. Bindu Fizz Jeera Masala followed in 2002, Sip On fruit drinks in 2004, Snak Up snacks in 2009 and Fruzon carbonated fruit drinks in 2013.
The infrastructure grew alongside the portfolio. A manufacturing unit was set up at Sangareddy, Telangana in 2017, the same year the corporate office moved to Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru. In 2024 the stone was laid for a Visakhapatnam unit, which came through in 2025 and extended manufacturing into Andhra Pradesh.
Today the House operates three manufacturing facilities, employs over 2,000 people and works with more than 1,400 distributors.
